Egg Transfer- The first and hopefully the last

OH MY GOD,
thanks for the heads up Google and Instagram. Egg Transfers are crazy!

Our appointment was booked in for 1pm yesterday.
At 12:30p we got the call that our doc. had to go into surgery and that the procedure had to be delayed by 45mins.

Yup, that's right, empty your bladder and start allllll ovvveerrrr agggaiiin. Okay, easy done.... we do that and we are patiently sitting in the waiting room until 2:30pm. BLergh!

When we are finally called in, we walk into a room with about 3 other scientists, our doc and one of our nurses. Boy, did I feel like I was this afternoon's entertainment! While the whole procedure realistically did only last about 10 minutes, it was still one of the hardest, strangest things that I have ever done.

To be sitting in a room with your legs up on a table, some sort of metal thing stuck into you and someone probing you with people standing around is so foreign, especially when you're doing what you can do get a baby into the world... not much passion I tell you now haha.

We did get to take a photo of our embryo though... Want to see?

Our doctor was really stoked with how things were going and how everything looked. I wish that could guarantee good results but I don't want to get too excited. I keep telling myself that there is still a 50-50 chance.

Anyway, the doc has said no running or gym work for the rest of the week, just until I am fully recovered from the egg retrieval process (yes I might go insane). So in the meantime we'll see lots of artwork, cooking, knitting and walking. Got to love being a teacher and school holidays...
